Information Collected
We collect the following information in order to measure the number
of visitors to the different sections of our site and to help make
our site more accessible and useful to visitors:
- The Internet Protocol Address. The Internet Protocol address is a numerical identifier assigned to either your Internet service provider or directly to your computer.

- The date and time you visited this site.

Use of Information
The above information is used to determine what is of the most and

Cookies
A cookie is a small amount of data sent from an individual browser
to a Web server and stored on a computer hard drive. The Department
of Revenue does not collect extended cookies from its users of our
Web site. The department does however maintain session cookies that
are processed during an individual interaction. These are automatically
removed when the session ends. No user information is gathered through
cookies except for those needed to run a specific application. Cookies
are not used to track your visits to our Web site.
Secure Applications
Secure applications such as WebFile, business tax online filing
and vehicle address change provide the opportunity to receive
or
create a
password
to access or submit personal information. You should not divulge
your
password to anyone. The Department of Revenue will never ask you
for your password in an unsolicited telephone call or e-mail.
When
you have finished with any password protected application, we recommend
you exit the page.
E-mail
If during your visit to the Kansas Department of Revenue's Web site
you send an e-mail message, the message and e-mail address may be
retained by the server. This may be used to respond to you, to address
issues you identify, to further improve our Web site, or to forward
the e-mail to another agency for appropriate action.
The confidentiality of Internet transactions is not guaranteed. We recommend against sending any personal information in an e-mail. We will not e-mail account related or other personal information as part of our response to you unless specifically requested by you. This information is a public record once you provide it, and may be subject to public inspection and copying if not protected by federal or state law (Kansas Open Records Act – K.S.A. 45-215 et seq.).
